Why Should You Run?
So coming from someone that's been running for quite some time now, there is so many reasons why someone wouldn't run! But, I'm not saying this as just a biased opinion i'm saying this because it's true, there are so many reasons why you should run!
So how do we want to go about this? Let's start from a standard mainstream suggestion. You should run because it's healthy for you. Research states that running can help boost your immune system and lower the risk of developing blood clots, as well as raise your levels of good cholesterol. Of Course, there's the basic reason that everyone knows, and why most people run. Running is one of the best forms of exercise in losing and maintaining consistent weight.
You don't always have to run just for the benefits for your health, some people don't do it for that, for some that's just a plus. For some, running is a social activity for them. They get together and run, use it as a reason to bond. Running can be fun for most, funny to hear that A LOT of people enjoy running, when others seem to dislike it with a passion. Running has always been used as a punishment. Coaches have used it a lot for conditioning in other sports, or as i said for punishment. So it's sad that something that is an unbelievable sport to us is talked down on.
It's just an accomplished feeling. You know waking up in the morning, and you are way too tired. Me, personally
I've woken up tired, my alarm has gone off early and my body is reminding me how many times I woke up to the baby last night, how late I stayed up, how early I'm awake, how sore my body is, how tired it is, and all this while deciding whether or not to snooze the alarm. That's when you think to yourself, this will be worth it. Then when you're on that run, and feeling great inside, you're thinking, " Man, I'm glad I didn't just stay in bed and miss a running day", then after you finish that 8 mile run, (or however much you ran that day) you're feeling invincible and accomplished because you pushed away all those reasons not to, just to feel the one great feeling..to run.
As a personal experience, Running was never a bad thing to me. Running has always been a good way to boost my confidence. But not only that, running has always been an amazing getaway for myself. Feeling blue, angry, or stressed, I go for a run. Running has always been that comfort for me. Not only for that reason, but running feels like a superpower to me. I know that may sound dumb but let me explain first. You know that feeling of being able to see how far you can push your body and how amazing it is when you've pushed it farther than you thought you can actually go! That's like a superpower to me, being able to get that runners high, where my legs go completely numb and I feel like I can run for hours and hours, miles and miles. That's a superpower.
So I can sit here and tell you a million and one reasons, and benefits as to why you should run. And you can read them all and decide whether or not you even want to, but that won't matter, because there is always a million reasons not to do something, and it's always so easy to put something off, or write it off.. But there isn't anything that can replace the feeling after you've accomplished that run!
